Medical Billing and Reimbursement Certificate (MBRC) – 24 Semester Hours

Medical Record Coding

The Certified Professional Biller (CPB) credential identifies medical information professionals with the knowledge and skills in medical billing and the nuances of payer requirements, supporting optimal reimbursement for healthcare providers. The Central Carolina Technical College (CCTC)’s Medical Billing and Reimbursement Certificate will teach the most up-to-date knowledge and skills relating to the health insurance industry and reimbursement methodologies for correct claim submission.

The program is designed to be completed in two (2) semesters [24 credit hours]. Successful completion will prepare the student to sit for the Certified Professional Billing (CPB) exam administered by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). The MBRC program will be presented 100% online and is supported with a wide variety of methods and opportunities for direct contact with the program manager and instructors. In order to be accepted into the MBRC program, students must have successfully completed the Medical Record Coding program.

There is now a demand for trained Billing professionals to ensure optimal reimbursement is received for services rendered in compliance with federal and state regulations in a timely manner. This is the perfect window of opportunity for students to gain skills and knowledge to work in a medical billing department at a physician’s office, 诊所, acute or long-term care facility, or as a claims examiner for insurance companies [third-party payers] to meet the demand of the industry.
